The Razor’s edge is a miraculous tangled Internet based film by Director Subbu (Subramaniam S. Iyer) one of the renowned Maker of popular reality-based crime show “Crime Patrol Satark”
As per promise they geared up & released a suspense thriller online on their YouTube channel “Shlok Entertainment” on 23rd October 2015 which is running successfully.
“The Razor’s Edge” attempts to expose the trials and tribulations of the film industry & the movie did it successfully somewhere & bought out the investigative instinct in the viewer’s mind & showed how an aspiring dreams are treated in the bloody ocean of Indian film industry.
Sameer (Pankaj B Singh) is a young struggling film maker in Mumbai who wants to be a successful director has knocked on every doors of Producers to narrate his script but no one wants or listen his script because he has no shining stars to promote or back him for the approach. But his hope of a “Green signal” someday makes him stand firm & strong every morning after black night. But somewhere a fear of getting all doors closed from life also led him to force the producers to at least give a chance to him to narrate a script but no use.
Director Subbu plotted the story very well & just like his show Crime Patrol everything was going good in beginning & then everything’s changed for Sameer when a beautiful News editor Tanya (Shweta Gulati) arrived in his life. The way they met is not going to be digested easily by the viewers because she already knew a lot about sameer, how? even confused sameer didn’t try to search out but here there’s a suspense & Subbu threw this dice of dilemma in both of the minds. Tanya constantly wondered whether sameer plotted it to bring her into his life & sameer wondered too, whether she plotted it to come into his life. Here our viewers are also gonna wonder the same until the end of movie.
The flashback of childhood & sudden love affair between sameer & Tanya is also going to create sceptical view in audience’s mind.
With the arrival of each other in their life a razor also arrived on which an entire movie is plotted. The razor created lots of mysteries during movie which is going to affix the viewers to know the real suspense.
There are very few directors in the industry who cater the movie title properly with the story line but the director Subbu did pure justice with the movie title “ The Razor’s edge” as the whole story is based on the name.
The sudden hand movement of Sameer is quite frightening & we found illogical too as that was of no use in entire movie but here again Subbu played very well with this movement & definitely he deserves a round of applause for giving chance to the viewers to use some detective’s mind here.
With the arrival of Tanya in sameer’s life everything changed, Now every producer wants to work with him & every light is a green light for him. Sameer was shocked with these unexpected surprises of life but happy too but what made him doubtful is, now every producer wants to work without listening his narration. Sameer got a chance to work with Malik Productions with a signing amount of 25 lakh with one of the Khan as a lead character from khan club in his film. It was like a dream come true but the same day a news came that Arnab Mukherjee (C.E.O of Trinity Pictures) got murdered with a Razor who refused him few days back.
This murder mysteries is going to tighten your seat belts because there are lots of thrilling experiences which will make you bite your fingers.
The unknown phone calls in favour of Sameer to the producers are also gonna stress your brain.
The arrival of Vijay kapoor, (police officer) & Sanjay (Ex Boy friend of Tanya & a Drug addict) in sameer’s life changed his entire life. While investigating murder mystery Vijay kapoor found the connection of enigma is leading to Sameer, whose career is a booming name in the industry now. But after the second murder of the producer Raghavan, Vijay sceptical investigation turned truth but still after interrogation with Sameer & other few people no conclusion came out. Vijay was suspecting on sameer in these murders whereas sameer was suspecting Sanjay, Tanya & Vikram (Sameer’s brother) behind all this. Not only the character’s mind even your mind is going to fickle here at this point.
Sameer frustration towards producers will revolve lots of questions during the movie because his anger to kill all the producers who did not listen his story will make you doubt on his character but that’s the climax of the story which you will find out by your own.
Sameer’s brother Vikram was the part of entire film but we didn’t discover his strong presence or connecting, Subbu tried well adjusting Vikram in this story but just as a filler or to confuse viewers to investigate while watching this suspense thriller.
The murder of a professor is also going to be mind tickling for many viewers in last.
Everything in the movie is well plotted but Subbu missed the climax of childhood flashback & could not explain it well with a flow of a story. If Tanya & sameer were classmates then why Tanya didn’t ask sameer anything for a single time? She knew the behavior of hand movement of sameer was same like a boy in the flashback then why she didn’t cared to investigate? The viewers will feel awkward here but at last with the final climax they are going to digest it easily. Watch it & you will know.
The seduction is the main USB of any crime based suspense thriller story & the hot chemistry between sameer & Tanya is profound successively.
The sentence “ tumne mujhe pehle he note kar liya tha na” is mentioned more than once.
The music & the background scoring played very important role in the movie & it is merged beautifully with every emotions & feelings.
Must say Without resorting to cheap thrills, Subbu delivered a gripping, genre-defying & justice to the movie..
The screenplay also touches upon the many divides of an aspiring & struggling Actors & directors of India.
Pankaj Singh is the mainstay of The Razor’s edge. As long as he is on it, it is difficult to take one’s eye off the screen. Shweta Gulati is one of the finest actor of Industry & she did justice with her role & a chemistry which they both shared is appreciable.
At a level “ The Razor’s edge” is a super suspense thrilling experience for the viewers & who watched the movie will definitely going to thrilled by the climax in the end with a smile on their face.
The Razor’s cut is a must watch.
